Tara Hall is a long-term residential home and school that accepts neglected, troubled, and abused boys. Whether they have been taken away from abuse and neglect or sent away from their homes because of their unmanageable behavior, at Tara Hall they come together as brothers and leave as changed young men.
Tara Hall cares for boys between the ages of six and 13 on a long-term basis—two to three years. Many of these children have faced emotional or behavioral problems so severe that it often takes at least six months to begin building a new foundation of trust.
Tara Hall offers a home environment, meeting all of the physical and emotional needs of the boys. An on-campus school meets the educational needs of the boys; a Family Services program assists families to prepare them for the eventual return of their boys.
Tara Hall invests much time an effort to guide the boys as they develop moral, spiritual, social, educational and life skills. Before coming to Tara Hall, many have never reveled in the basics of boyhood like fishing the creek, throwing a ball, or playing alongside peers. For them, Tara Hall is one of the first encounters with “normal” life.
