Golf Course Improvement Project Update
August 29, 2014
In spite of the cooler temperatures that we have experienced the past few weeks, the Bermuda fairways are thriving and have reached approximately 90% coverage. As with all projects of this type, the fairways are going to be in good shape when we open on September 13th but will not reach full maturity until next summer.
The removal of the old sand in the bunkers is complete. The process of refilling the bunkers is more than halfway done and the entire process should be finished in about a week. The bunkers will be filled with sand that meets or exceeds the USGA specifications. This new sand will provide a more consistent playing surface in all of the bunkers.
Work continues on new tee complex on hole #11. The tee and drainage work is complete. The sodding of the area is scheduled to be finished by Wednesday, September 3rd. This will be a great addition to our course.
Landshore Enterprises, the company working on the lake banks, will complete their portion of the lake bank restoration process by September 5th. Brad and his crew will start the process of sodding the repaired lake banks as soon as the contractor is finished. This process will continue throughout the fall.
